NZZ: An exceptional Talent!

Marc played the Sibelius concerto under the direction of Lionel Bringuier with Tonhalle-Orchester in Zurich. Both, Bachtrack and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung published reviews about the concert:

The violinist plays with soft articulations, expressive dynamics and agigics. Also his vibrato was expressive: harmonious and not nervous. Bouchkov knew how to emphasize hidden refracted harmony lines but never played on its own but lived in harmony with the orchestra, expressed especially in the dialogues with the vioals and cellos. The focus was not on elegance or technical brilliance but on expressivity and musicality. Bouchkov started carefully and deliberately, nothing was trivial.

“In the violin concerto by Jean Sibelius Marc Bouchkov played even more intensively with the orchestra – and not the other way round. He takes rhapsodic liberties, enters fine dialogues with the solo vioa and grants a paganini like freedom and sensuality to the double stop passages which reaches the core of this music. The slow movement is tangentially profound, the final boisterously joyful. Without doubt: an exceptional talent!”
